Denied boarding compensation

If you were involuntarily denied boarding due to overbooking, you are entitled to immediate compensation. This is one of the strongest protections under EU 261/2004 because overbooking is entirely within the airline's control.

Compensation amounts

€250 Up to 1,500 km

€400 1,500 - 3,500 km

€600 Over 3,500 km

Requirements

You were involuntarily denied boarding
You had a confirmed reservation and checked in on time
You were not denied for health, safety, or documentation reasons
Flight departed from an EU airport
